Little red jumper

jumper - Burberry, top - Burberry, skort - eBay, beanie - eBay, boots - Dr Martens

I'm lucky that I'm a thin person and that I haven't really grown since the age of 13 because that means that I can still wear one of my favourite jumpers. This knitted Burberry jumper isn't incredibly warm but I love the bright colour... which is unusual for me!

McQueen-esque

dress - Julien MacDonald via Debenhams, watch - Casio, chocker - Topshop, boots - Dr Martens

So at 5"7, I'm taller than the average woman but I still feel a little iffy wearing midi dresses when I'm not wearing ridiculous, stumble-over-your-own-feet heels because I feel, well... stumpy. So I can only imagine how shorter people feel! However, there's a story behind this beautiful dress.

Every year, when I get exam results, my grandma insists on buying me presents as a kind of congratulations. On our traditional shopping day, first on the agenda was to go to Harvey Nichols and find my grandma a posh frock for a posh do. After trailing around and finding a few perfect dresses for her, I stumbled across an absolutely stunning Alexander McQueen dress which I couldn't get out of my mind as we walked around HN. We eventually played dress up and while she was changing into hers, I changed into this Alexander McQueen dress (click here). The dress was absolutely gorgeous, colour, texture, cut etc. and so I was persuading her for it (cheeky I know, being a dress over £700 but it would be a combined Christmas/birthday/congratulations present)... and she was coming around to the idea! We shopped around a little more in different shops for bits and pieces and when in Debenhams I came across this little number. Yes, ok... the design isn't as intricate and the red is more of a burgundy but at almost a tenth of the price, how could I resist? This one even fit a bit better. Being between a size 4/6 (bar the booty), the size small in the Alexander McQueen dress was just slightly too big but in my lusting phase I chose to ignore it. I'm so happy that I found this dress, it's absolutely beautiful and a steal compared to the McQueen version. I advise you all to go try it out!

ps. with the English weather, it's simply impossible to get good photo's! It's either raining or the sunlight is very awkward... and I'm not too great with a camera anyway! Sorry

Tartan trend.

greet tartan kilt skirt - (similar) New Look

Winter is my favourite time of year, always has been, always will be! Tartan is such a wintery pattern and I'm not sure why. It seems to circulate most winters and I always look in wonder at all the beautiful tartan collections appear on the runway. Last, year I bought a pair of grungy looking tartan jeans from Topshop and this year I've bought a lovely tartan skirt which looks more sophisticated. I can tell you that I'm pretty into the tartan trend and will hopefully be building my wardrobe around this trend for winter. I'm planning on purchasing the kilt-like baby pink and baby blue one and also the woollen white and orange one this weekend (AND perhaps the coat, if I have enough money!)
Whether it's a top, a coat, a skirt... there's definitely something to please everyone in this trend and can transform an outfit.

My take on the tartan trend...

turtle neck - H&M, belt - Primark, skirt - Zara, shoes - Dr.Martens, necklace - H&M, watch - Casio

I am absolutely in love with this Zara tartan skirt. It's not just that I'm obsessed with the current tartan trend but also the zips and the structure which is a twist to the normal, classic, kilt-like tartan skirt. However, I do often think that if you wear it in the wrong way... you can look like a slutty school girl gone wrong (especially, if you're as blind as a bat like me so have to wear glasses!) so I paired it with my chunky doc's to make this as far from school girl as possible.

Have you been obsessing over this trend? Post your tartan outfit links below and I'll take a look!

ps. You can probably tell that my new favourite shooting place is the stump in my back garden where my beautiful monkey puzzle tree used to be! As weird as it sounds... I miss that tree. Yes, I miss a tree. I'm a strange one.

Zara Skort - Take 2

shirt - Zara, skort - eBay (similar in Zara), shoes - Primark, watch - Casio

I've been a naughty blogger. I haven't posted in AGES. I miss it but I just don't have a lot of time with all the work I've been getting at sixth form. But here you go! I now have this Zara skort in white, and copies in black and blue and I'm never out of them... it's a wonder I actually manage to wear the rest of my clothes. I really would recommend you buy one because they go with everything and can make a boring outfit look really cool with the interesting 'envelope' front detailing (as I've heard it being described).

I promise I'll post again tomorrow in order to make up for missed time!

Insta Update...

dress - H&M, shoes - Dr.Martens

So, as of late I've really gotten into Instagram properly in order to show what I'm wearing etc and I've kind of abused blogging because my brother takes the pictures and he's been away so instagram-ming was simply easier! But I've missed writing posts where I can ramble on, so here goes...

This was the day I went to a picnic in Roundhay Park, it was boiling hot and so the black probably wasn't the best idea because I just attracted sun rays. However, as said in my last post, I've been really into black and all things black so I didn't want to dress any other way.

Here's just some pictures I took for instagram to show you what I was wearing. How sweet is this jumper dress? £10 BARGAIN from H&M in the sale! I bought it in silver too on my mad haul which I will show you in a few posts time (yes, I know I've promised you haul posts in the past and never got round to it but this time I actually will... probably!)
