Maiyet - AW 15 PFW

(all photos from Vogue.co.uk)

Another little collection review from me, and this time it is the beautifully crafted AW 15 collection from Maiyet which was showcased at Paris Fashion Week. Maiyet continues to present a laid back luxe vibe with lengthy hems, loose garments, low plunging neck lines and a very obvious wrap and tie detail running through the entire collection. The collection also predominantly featured a mixture of textures, from fur to leather to woven fringing.

There was an overall ethnic atmosphere too, brought about by the beautiful and detailed embroidery, hand stitched by Indian artisans. The collection focused around the quality of the garments, whether it be the decoration or the material themselves, from "Batik sourced from Indonesia, to hand-loomed knitwear made in Peru." What a way to celebrate the beauty of traditional techniques, adding a new meaning to the phrase 'back to basics'.

I would happily wear any of these pieces. My favourite ensemble being the either the fringed jumper and skirt, the laid back suit or the loose white top and black trouser combo.

What's your favourite?
