Prabal Gurung - NYFW

(all photos from Vogue.co.uk)

Gurung was inspired by a trip to the Adirondacks mountins in New York. The collection oozes luxury and elegance with hints of sportswear in the form of brightly coloured or fur lined coats. Luxury is enhanced due to the fabrics that are used to create this glamourous collection such as double cashmere, pony hair, velvet, fox fur and jacquard wool and silk. Accessories, such as fur stoles, make the linear ensembles look just that much more sophisticated.

The collection features mainly midi-length and calf-length dresses and skirts, something that seems huge for Autumn and Winter '16, creating a elongated silhouette. Slits enhance the movement and also make the collection just that bit more sultry. The oversized funnel-necked knits and coats give volume and a bit of masculinity to the feminine undergarments.
