Porsche Design - NYFW

Another dark show from NYFW comes from Porsche Designs, featuring black, charcoal, pewter, khaki and a beige camel. This show oozes strength and expensive utilitarian fashion from the ribbed knit skirts and dresses to the shearling aviator jackets, flowing trenches to the corsetry. The contrasting texture that Costin uses makes the one colour ensembles riveting and the strong use of tailoring, in juxtaposition with loose fitting flowing trousers and skirts exaggerates this.

According to Pierre Costin, this collection is the "ideal uniform for the future" and he stated that he thinks "something that's missing in fashion are clothes that make you feel like you can face your day being bolder and stronger." The strong shoulders and clinched in waist create a solid silhouette but also sexy. Porsche Designs want to make it clear that A/W 2016 is all about the outerwear whether that be bombers, aviator jackets or full calf length coats paired with a lengthy flowing skirt and a clinched waist.
