Vera Wang - NYFW

(All photos from Vogue.co.uk)

Black and white - the only colours that featured in this beautiful, monochrome and timeless collection. Her minimal approach to this collection was something I didn't expect from Wang, after admiring her incredible, intricately designed and adorned bridal dresses for so long but it was refreshing and she did it equally as tastefully - showing she is a true designer. It's also quite incredible how she manages to get 42 different looks using just 2 colours, but that just means that Wang could focus more on the "creative cuts, shapes, textures and layering for making a statement" - something that certainly appeals to the clients.

The loose and oversized fittings of the majority of her ensembles combined with the broad and boxy silhouettes created a more androgynous vibe to the collection, something that Wang isn't used to in her bridal gowns. Her use of sheer fabrics, lace and teeny tiny floral appliques slightly brings back the feminine feel.

Favourite part of the collection: the oversized knit with flowing full length skirt beneath
