Pamella Roland - NYFW

(All photos from Vogue.co.uk)

Whilst there are a lot of collections focusing on the 70's this season, it was the 70's in Paris that was Roland's inspiration for this collection because according to Roland, "It was really the time when everything started kicking off, at one time there was just a small amount of designers and then all of a sudden I think it just really took off in the seventies." This is shown through the plum, khaki, caramel and navy colour palette, the chiffon flowing dresses and the sharp tuxedos, which are apparently a particular favourite of Roland. The addition of a cape gave a spin to the already luxurious suit and gives it a more girly feel.

The collection which oozes glamour, showed elegant gowns with high leg slits and sumptuous fabrics which were manipulated into retro feminine silhouettes whilst remaining modern and contemporary.
