Narciso Rodriguez - NYFW

(All photos courtesy of Vogue.co.uk)

Along with a few of the other collections this season, Narciso Rodriguez designed a predominantly monochrome line up, however in the mix he added a few creamy and beigey neutrals and beautiful blush, mint, navy and a saffron - some of which were my favourite looks. His collection featured mainly elongated and slim silhouettes which were the result of high waisted wide leg trousers and and flowing skirts, some of which had asymmetrical hems, which made these skirts more revealing than others. He paired these with strappy vests, which barely covered anything and lengthy coats or waistcoats with long lapels.

The sheer materials and lace which feature quite minutely in the collection add a sense of sultry and femininity yet the waistcoats give a modern twist on the menswear trend and bring strength and masculinity to the collection. Dresses generally hugged the figure and were brought in at the waist showing the natural silhouette but some dresses were rather linear. It is clear that Rodriguez's cuts are what stole the show - how those dresses clung to the body with the correct amount of movement and grace was spectacular.

Favourite parts of the collection: lengthy lapels, spaghetti strap plunging V-neck dress and wide leg trousers.
